Confinement Lady

Today, we interviewed the confinement lady that we were about to engage.

The appointment was at 3pm. At about 2.40pm, the doorbell rang. Upon opening the door, we saw a stout lady in her late 40s, early 50s, smiling at us. She introduced herself as Sally, the agent.

As we had converse before, we let Sally into the house. After getting seated, she told us that we would not be meeting the confinement lady today. Her reason was that she was afraid that after meeting the confinement lady, we might go direct to engage the confinement lady rather than through her. As she had such bad experiences, unethical clients, before, she thought that it would be better that we could confirm all details prior to seeing the lady.

Giving us her assurance, we listened to her sales pitch. After about an hour of selling, my wife and I felt that her service was fine and that she sounded reliable. However, I felt a little uncomfortable. I wanted her to clarify the responsibilities of the confinement lady in the presence of the lady, my wife and myself, so that there would not be any misunderstanding on what to do and what not to do.

Sally agreed and she will be here to brief the confinement lady on the first day she works.
