In The World Of Your Own
People nowadays are getting more and more inconsiderate.
Is this because of the direction of our society? The “I win, you lose” mindset? The “me and myself” mentality? The Kiasu syndrome?
This evening, I went to Mount Alvernia Hospital with my wife to attend our baby preparation course. When we arrived, the room was quite packed with couples. There were mats placed on the floor for each pregnant lady to sit on and utilize at the latter part of today’s course. My wife settled down comfortably on a mat, while I stood behind her.
As the session began, more and more pregnant ladies walked into the room. The room became so packed that some of the ladies did not have an area to learn and practice the skills taught by the doctor. They had to stand at one corner and quietly observe. How could the hospital be so inconsiderate by scheduling so many ladies in one session but yet provide insufficient facilities? Were they trying to maximize their profits?
Then half way through the session, mobile phones started to ring, one after another. Please people! The doctor is trying to educate the couples. Shouldn’t they be considerate enough to switch their mobile phones to silent mode before the course started? With all these disturbances, it’s just like mobile phones ringing, and people talking loudly, while you are watching movie in the cinema.
Last complaint. During break time, all the people rushed out to grab the finger food provided. Milo packets and hot water were catered but insufficient. Reason was because people were taking 2 and 3 packets for ONE CUP. I overheard one guy saying that he liked his Milo thick.
Although I was fuming over all these events, I felt that I had to let go. After all, I am living in a society. If I am unhappy, I should migrate.

No use migrating. I'm sure everywhere's the same. You just have to take things easy and not let these inconsiderate people bother you.
