Outback Catch Up

Today, we had dinner with our ex-colleague, Jan, and ex-school mate, Yee Hwee.

We arrived at Outback Restaurant at about 7.15pm, late as usual. Jan and Yee Hwee had already arrived.

We placed our orders and did some catching up while waiting for the food. It was a happy occasion for all of us as we had not seen each other for quite some time.

The dishes arrived after some time. We were all very hungry by then. The food at Outback was great. However the service wasn’t the same standard as the food. All the waiters and waitresses walked around with their heads focused on the floor instead of the vigorous waving hands. We couldn’t blame them as they were really busy. They were moving from table to table with ever arriving dishes.

I wanted to ask for Tabasco sauce and started waving my hands frantically. It didn’t help to get their attention. I decided to walk up to a waiter and asked from him. He then walked towards the sauce cabinet. I followed him, afraid that he might forget my request. He searched his sauce cabinet and couldn’t find any Tabasco bottle. In the end, he walked into the kitchen and brought me a huge bottle of Tabasco sauce.

I presumed the chef didn’t need to use it at the moment.
